Costa del Sol

Known best for it's seventeen miles of beautiful sandy beaches, challenging golf courses, lively nightlife, summertime fiestas and cobbled streets,Marbella is the "tourism capital" of Spain's Costa del Sol. Founded by the Romans in 1600 B.C., its architecture is both Moorish Mediterranean and "castellano". Concha Mountain protects Marbella and helps to ensure its warm summers and mild winters. The sun shines on Marbella 320 days annually; its tropical gardens bloom all year long and exotic trees line its roadways. Average temperatures range from 14ºC in January to 25ºC in August.Marbella's many points of interest include the Bonsai Museum, the City Walls, El Fuerte Beach, Marbella Mosque, The Museum of Contemporary engravings, Old Town, Orange Square, the Parque de la Constitution and the Seafront promenade. Ruins in villages with Arab origins lie in mountains just a few miles distant. Marbella's best beaches include Playa Bella (La Rsinera) Guadalmina - San Pedro, Puerto Banus, La Fontanilla, Faro, and La Chapas.
