Airports
There are two possible airports, more or less equidistant, Malaga, Spain, or Gibraltar. The only problem with Gibraltar is that there can be problems with the border crossing, if there is a local dispute. From Europe you can fly to Malaga, with easyJet www.easyjet.com, Sterling Airways, SAS Snowflake, Swiss Int Airlines, travelbrookers, British Airways, Lufthansa, LTU, To Gilbraltar try FlyMonarch or BA. The cost is about EUR 350 depending on the season. From US to Madrid with any major company, and from there local flight to Malaga. Or to London and from there to Malaga. Check the cost of bringing the golf bag. The cost varies a lot. You can find information about Malaga airport on www.aena.es. You need a 50cent/1 Euro coin to the bagage-carts.
Rent a car
I recommend you to rent a car. It will take you about 50 minutes door to door on the new motorway, (have 3,20 EUR ready for motorway toll). At Malaga airport you can rent a car from every major rental firm i.e. Hertz, Avis and they are situated in the basement http://www.aena.es. Just take the baggage carriage downstairs (have 50 cent and 1Euro ready). Or a low budget alternative, for instance, Dany Car at www.dany-car.com (situated 3 minutes free bus ride from airport).
How to get from the airport to the apartment by car
Take the motorway south to Cadiz. Halfway you have to pay a toll of 3.2 Euro. After turned off the motorway at Marbella/Puerto Banus follow Ctra de Cadiz to Algeciras. You will pass San Pedro de Alcantara and Nueva Andalucia. From there it is about 10 km's left to DB. As you come close to 161 km you will see the entrance of Dominion Beach on the left side. First you will see a blue sign ´Cambio de sentido` , do not turn! Wait. (if you pass Hotel Kepinski you have gone to far)Turn right at 161 km after the black sign 'Cambio de sentido' - the sign stands for 'change of direction', Turn left under Ctra de Cadiz and left agian up on the road. You are now traveling back a few hundred meters, but be aware. Do not speed up. As you see the white houses of Dominion Beach on your right hand, the entrance will come very sharp.
